Jazz in the Atrium at the Dallas Museum of Art tonight features the James Gilyard Ensemble. James Gilyard is a jazz bassist and his ensemble features some of DFW’s finest young musicians. Simone Rogers is on vocals. Its free, and there will be wine and food for sale. The music goes from 6pm to 8pm.

Comedy at the Improv? D. Ellis aka Mr. Entertainment and guests will be at the Improv in Arlington tonight! 309 Curtis Mathes Way. The show is at 8pm and tickets are $12 to $22.

There will be live jazz at Chocolate Secrets and Wine Garden! 3926 Oak Lawn Ave., Dallas. The music starts about 7:30pm!

Angelo & Vito's Pizzaria/ Nice quaint spot for a first date

This friday I was amongst a group of people and a discussion came up about women who are turned off by going to a place like Applebee's for a first date because its cheap. My offering to the discussion was that, yes Applebee's for a first date can definitely be a turn off, but that there are other places that you can go for a first date that don't necessarily have to be Capital Grill or Nobu, that will still wow a woman and make for a great first impression. Like bistro's, or cute little family owned restaurants. Its not always about money when wowing a woman. Creativity is key. I went to a pizzaria on Sunday that I thought would be perfect for a first date so I thought I'd share. It was called Angelo & Vito's Pizzaria. Its a Brooklyn styled pizzaria and it seemed great for a first date. Its at 4520 Frankford Rd. Suite 400 in Dallas.
