Mavericks vs Miami Heat, Dance Theater of Harlem: 40 Years of Firsts, Live Jazz

The Dallas Mavericks play the Miami Heat tonight at American Airlines Center 2500 Victory Ave., Dallas at 7:30pm.  www.ticketmaster.com

The art gallery “Dance Theater of Harlem: 40 Years of Firsts” opens today.  Its free.  The gallery will focus on many accomplishments of African Americans and other minorities who dared to overcome prejudice and pursue their passion.  Its at the Irving Arts Center, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd., in Irving.

Enjoy the entertainment, food and fun of The Classical Open Mic at Buzzbrews Kitchen.  4334 Lemmon Ave., Dallas.  Its free to get in, and local classical artist get together to flex their muscle.  It starts about 8pm.



Jazz artist Drea Kelley is performing at Sambuca in Dallas tonight.  2120 McKinney Ave. Get there about 8pm.  

Its Hookahs and Hip Hop again tonight at Momo's!  2800 Routh St ., Dallas.  Its from 9pm to 2am.  The kitchen is open late.  

Tonight at the Scat Jazz Lounge is the music of Jay Raymond and Tim Green Group with Special Guest Quamon Fowler.  The address is 111 W. 4th St. in Fort Worth.  Get there about 8pm.

Justin Timberlake is in concert tonight at the American Airlines Center 2500 Victory St, Dallas.  The concert starts at 7 and the tickets are $49.50 to $175.00..  www.ticketmaster.com  for tickets. Rachel Avonne is going to be performing tonight at Buttons Fort Worth, 4701 W. Fwy.  She will be performing from 7:30pm to 10pm.  You can eat, relax and listen to some good music! Luke Wade is performing tonight at 7pm at The Live Oak in Fort Worth, 1311 Lipscomb St.  The cost is $10 to get in. Its Wine Down Wednesdays at Chiladas Fresh Mex Grill in Plano, 6145 Windhaven Pkwy, Suite 120 from 4pm to 7pm.  Glasses of wine are $3. You can have a great time tonight at The Prophet Bar for their open mic!  Enjoy the best in local talent, and DJ Jay Clipp is in the mix, and RC and the Gritz will be performing. Angelo & Vito's Pizzaria/ Nice quaint spot for a first date

This friday I was amongst a group of people and a discussion came up about women who are turned off by going to a place like Applebee's for a first date because its cheap.  My offering to the discussion was that, yes Applebee's for a first date can definitely be a turn off, but that there are other places that you can go for a first date that don't necessarily have to be Capital Grill or Nobu, that will still wow a woman and make for a great first impression.  Like bistro's, or cute little family owned restaurants.  Its not always about money when wowing a woman.  Creativity is key. I went to a pizzaria on Sunday that I thought would be perfect for a first date so I thought I'd share.  It was called Angelo & Vito's Pizzaria.  Its a Brooklyn styled pizzaria and it seemed great for a first date.  Its at 4520 Frankford Rd.
